I have a new hobby, making soy candles in teacups and mugs. I love finding old cups and putting them to a new use. They are each special to me, and I love giving them as gifts. I may even sell a few.
I wanted to put a tag with a scripture about our cup of blessing, but upon reflection, decided to use another thought. These were just unwanted old cups, which I “rescued”, even digging through a bin full of cups at a Goodwill Outlet, finding some nice Debbie Mumm Christmas mugs among the broken handles and shattered glass.
Here is the tag I’m using for my cups:

This first cup, I had to keep for myself of course, since it has red roses on it. I love this one, and the unusual saucer tray.

Doesn’t it look pretty with my old lamp?

I found some of these cups at a garage sale, which started this whole new hobby…all at once I thought, wouldn’t these make pretty candles? This one is going to my pastor’s wife.

A couple more…oh, these are Hot Spiced Vanilla. The above cups were Homemade Apple Pie.

I gave the plain cup and saucer to my friend Janet, and she sent me this picture:

This one Ruthie just took to work to give to her asst manager who just had a birthday. (French Vanilla fragrance) Sometimes I can’t find matching saucers.

Here is an old fashioned tea cup.

This interesting mug shows things in London. I’m giving this to someone I know who recently went to London.
This one is mine…I like lighthouses. (I have another cup like this though if anyone else likes lighthouses.)

A fruit mug

I have lots more cups, including Christmas mugs and teacups. So I’ll be adding more candles here as I make them. Right now my house smells like French Vanilla, because that was the last batch I made.
My daughter Lisa’s kitchen is decorated in violets, and I never thought I’d find a cup to match, but I did!

Gretchen took a picture of the one I gave her:

Here’s a few more that I haven’t given away…

Cappuccino Hazelnut…Yum!

This one is sold!

These are simply beautiful
Gail, The cups are beautiful; you are one talented lady. I am moved by the beautiful tag you wrote and amazed at how you tied it into the Corinthians verse.
Gail — I love the inspiring words about redemption. And I love the symbolism of taking real objects and making them new again.

Gail:
These are wonderful. You should “sell” them. I’m sure you could get lots of buyers. I’ll be on the lookout for “old tea cups” for you.
Just wanted to let you know Jenice Flint Coleman has stomach cancer, and will be operated on Friday to have the lower half of her stomach removed. Please keep her in your prayers. She needs them right now!
Love
JoAnn
Thanks for all the compliments ladies.
And thanks to you JoAnn for letting me know about Jenice. I will be praying for her. Do you know which hospital she’ll be in?

Glad you like it Drew. I haven’t checked this blog in a while. I need to write something!
